My mind is playing tricks on me, this is what I do to help myself

I´m still reflecting on “Educated” by Tara W. (you can find my article here)and want to watch “The Shift” again. The last couple of days were not my best emotionally, so I need to take care of my mind. Because there are no good or bad situations by themselves, only the way we look at them. The mind is our most powerful tool to deal with whatever life throws at us. But most of us just rush through our days on autopilot and sometimes land not where we would like to.

I have to admit, sometimes I become a prisoner of my own mind (this week is not an exception). But the best thing is, that I can recognize it. I can recognize when it is time to slow down, pay attention to my thoughts, reflect and let them go. There are many strategies and tools I use to work with my mind and one of them I will share with you today.

I am sure you have heard about meditation and its´ benefits. But most people imagine that meditation is sitting in a lotus position and having no thoughts at all. And it can scare some people to try it because it is really really hard.

Now what I would like to recommend today is something similar to meditation — priming. This is the practice that I have used for 6 months at some point in my life every single day, and it helped me a lot. By using just 15 min in your morning, you prime yourself for a great day.

The priming exercise consists of 4 parts:

-breathing

-remembering

-visualizing

-planning

You breathe deeply to get oxygen to your body. Oxygen is energy and life. Then you remember the good things you had and have in your life, the memories you are grateful for. Next, you visualize the future you want to have. And lastly, you set 3 goals for your day to get you closer to your dream life. This is best done in the morning, so you can set yourself up for a good day ahead.

I know you might be skeptical, but it works. There is no magic, there is no mumbo jumbo. It is simple. What we focus on we attract. Where focus goes energy flows. Simple law of our minds. Have you ever been so focused on what you don’t want, and you got it? What if you focus on what you want?

Those 15 minutes in the morning can really help you improve your mood, energy, and thoughts. Try it out. It is made by famous American life coach Anthony Robbins. I have been to one of his 3-day events and it definitely changed my life for the better. He is worth reading and listening to, but for now, start with his priming exercise and see how it will shift your life.

P.S. Firstly, watch the video and then try doing the exercise.

I´m on a mission to help you to become your most favorite person.
I hope with all the recommendations I am succeeding at least a little bit.
