The things I would never say
I see a lot of articles titled: one thing that changed my life, one book that changed it all, this is not worth reading, this place is not worth visiting.
I actually would never say it.
First, we are all different, so what one likes, does not mean another will, and vice versa. I asked a friend if visiting Rome is nice. She said no. I still went and loved it.
Everyone recommended visiting Venice. I went and did not like it at all. Would I say, don´t go there? No! Because you might like it.
I lived in Gran Canaria and did not like it. The place just was not for me. But many people love it. Will I say don´t go there? No! Go. Create your own experiences and opinions.
The same with books. Reading them and reviewing them is just our own opinion. It certainly helps to decide if we still want to read it. I have read many books which have been praised and I did not like them. I also read many books, that I just loved, but others did not adore them.
So what is a bad book? What country is not worth visiting? The one you decide! I say — explore! Make your own judgments.
Furthermore, am I just not lucky, or what? Because after reading a few hundred books, going to many seminars, listening to many podcasts, and working with many coaches, I did not meet one, which would change my life.
It was not one book, that changed my life.
It was not one person, that changed my life.
It was not one podcast, that changed my life.
It was not one coach, that changed my life.
It was a combination of it all. It was me doing the work.
The lesson: be open-minded, find your way, experience your experiences and do the work.
