My word for 2024

every year since I started making vision boards and planning my life, goals, etc. I also come up with one focus word for the whole year.

Last year it was — SLOW.

I wanted to learn to live slowly, to do things slowly, to eat slowly, to think slowly. It might sound funny, as now we are so hooked on doing things fast and rushing. But I noticed, that through all this rush I was missing out and missing to feel life. I felt that life was passing me by and I did not stop to feel it, enjoy it, soak in it.

So last year it was all about making sure I slowly enjoy everything. I am not there yet, but I am in a much better place than before. Meditation, silence retreats and all mindfulness practices really helped on this journey.

Now for this year my word and my focus has changed. This year I want to focus on my health. And this does not come as a surprise, because I have been so sick in India, and still am, that this illness changed my perspective on so many things.

So my many activities, plans, goals and pictures on my vision board are about health. Firstly about my physical health, but not only that… I also focus on my mental health, my emotional health and my spiritual health. My body cannot be healthy if my mind is not and other way around.

What is your word for 2024? Or maybe you did not have one and will start this practice from now on?
