Love you autumn
It is not a secret that autumn is my favorite season.
🍂 I love the feeling of stillness and people slowing down.
🍂 I love how the autumn sun peaks behind the leaves and makes them sparkle.
🍂 I love how fallen leaves float on the water or dance with the tune of the wind.
🍁 Autumn makes me reflect on my life, on my every day.
🍁 Autumn makes me stop and absorb the details.
🍁 Autumn helps me enjoy life just a little bit more.
Maybe because the days are shorter and when there is no light outside I look for the light within?
Maybe I start feeling nostalgic for the life that is passing by and I want to savor every single breath of air I have, want to use every single opportunity to experience the wonders of life.
This Sunday morning I recommend you dress up according to the weather and step outside to breathe in the autumn.
The rules of the game:
🍎 Do not take your phone with you. No phone — no temptation to check it, no temptation to take pictures, no temptation to keep yourself immersed in the virtual world.
🍎 Do not plan the route. No route — no plan. Turn where you feel like turning, it can be the same road you take every day or the one you never walked before. Notice how much more you will see without hurrying, without end destination, without the phone. If you will get lost, strike up a conversation with a stranger. You never know who you can meet. (This week I had a very fruitful one-hour conversation with the CEO of Danish border security and defense, only because I went for lunch alone and had no phone with me).
🍎 Do not set the time. Let yourself get lost in the moment. For one day do not have a plan, an end goal, or the end result (this is especially valid to me…)
🍎 Enjoy. Close your eyes and feel the wind or sun on your face. Do you feel alive? Breathe in deeply the fresh air. Do you feel alive? Look around. What do you see? Do you see something new? Smile to yourself and the world. How do you feel?
I would be grateful if you try this and share your experiences. I tried it two weeks ago and noticed that I am actually addicted to checking the phone or having it with me. It felt that something was missing when I walked without it. I also noticed so many small details in the city which I walked for the last three years and never saw. I will definitely do it again. Maybe already tomorrow.
P.S. I would love to visit Vermont in autumn. So if any of my fans live in Vermont and want me over for autumn vacation — I am in :) Just saying :)
