Is Monday causing you stress?

Would you like to feel better prepared for the upcoming work week?

As the weekend draws to a close, most if not all of us, are facing the prospect of returning to work tomorrow. I’m no exception in this regard.

Tomorrow at 8 a.m., I’ll be back in the office managing emails, meetings, conference calls, and employees. However, what might surprise you is that I’m not intimidated by it. Why? Because I have a clear understanding of what needs to be done.

You see, the key to a successful Monday lies in preparing for it ahead of time.
So, how do I prepare for my work week?✍️

Every Friday, during the last 30 minutes of my workday, I allocate time to plan for the following work week. This involves reviewing all upcoming meetings, scheduling tasks in my calendar, and mapping out the entire week. I maintain control over my calendar. Ensuring this control is a personal task because if I neglect it, someone else might take charge, filling up my schedule and leaving insufficient time for essential duties. (I’m more than willing to share a comprehensive master class on managing my calendar, and I probably will sometime.)

Thus, every Friday, I establish a plan for the forthcoming work week.

Moving on, I review this plan every Sunday evening, with a particular focus on Monday. I meticulously outline my entire day, encompassing activities before work, during work, and after work.

Knowing what tomorrow holds gives you a sense of command and diminishes stress. I thoroughly assess the meetings and tasks scheduled for the next day, confident that I’m well-prepared and capable.

To summarize, follow these two straightforward steps:
🍒Create a workweek plan on Friday before wrapping up.
🍒On Sunday, review the plan, paying special attention to Monday.
🥳Once this is done, ensure you get a good night’s sleep and relish the positive start to your work week.

Are you willing to give it a try?😉

Yours,

Irma
