Today I am writing to you from sunny Thailand. Are you feeling jealous? 🌴

Good.

James Bond Island, Thailand. 2022. Happy traveler. Me:)

Very often we are told that jealousy is bad, we should not be jealous.

Why not?

It all depends on what we do with the jealousy.

Are you jealous and wish the other person the opposite of luck? Then of course it is not good.

But jealousy can be used as motivation.

Examples:

💥 You see a person driving an expensive car. You feel jealous. This signals, that you also want that in your life, as else you would not feel jealous or even notice that car. You can use this as motivation to work harder, and smarter, and make plans on how to get that car for yourself.

💥 You see a healthy, active, fit person. You feel jealous. You want that body too. This can motivate you to start exercising and to start eating healthier.

💥 You see Mary crossing the street. Do you feel jealous? What about Mary makes you jealous? Do you want to be like her? Do you want to look like her? Do you want her job or her relationships or how she carries herself?

💥 You see a person traveling the world and you feel nothing. This signals that travel is not important. You do not want to spend money or time on traveling. Fine, move on. Focus on other things.

So you see, jealousy is good. It clearly shows you what is important to you in life. If you are jealous then because you want that too for yourself. Then try to make a plan on how to get it without negatively impacting other people.

For example, I always feel a little bit of jealousy when I see people talking on stage and presenting ideas. Because I would love to do that.

I am jealous when I see people launching coaching programs because I want that too.

I feel jealous when someone publishes a great book. You know why :)

So jealousy is my guiding star 🌟🌟🌟

Reflect this Sunday on the things or people you are jealous of and how can you use it as the motivation to improve yourself and your life.
